Today we’re going to find out if RapidSeedbox truly has all of the features and packages necessary to consider it the king of seedboxes. This will be a very in-depth review that will tell you all you need to know about this seedbox’s Plex server capabilities, app compatibility, payment methods, security features, and more.

Packages, Pricing and Server Specifications

Right off the bat, we’re going to talk about one of the areas that RapidSeedbox truly excels at: the sheer number of packages that the company offers. No matter what kind of data and storage plan you are looking for, the odds are that RapidSeedbox has something perfect for you.

In total RapidSeedbox has seven different package plans and each one can be paid on a monthly or yearly basis. Three of which are Lean plans which are ideal for Seedbox beginners. The other four are Premium plans that are best for Seedbox users who want complete control, increased privacy, and more app installers.

In order from least expensive to most, RapidSeedbox’s plans are Swift, Speedy, Supreme, Fast, Stream, Rapid, and Furious.

Warning
Governments and ISPs across the world monitor their users' online activities. If found streaming copyright content, you could get into serious legal trouble. Currently, your IP is visible to everyone. I strongly recommend you to get the best VPN for torrenting and hide your identity so that your entertainment doesn’t take a bad turn.

RapidSeedbox Lean Plans

swift Plan:

  • $8 per month, or $7 per month yearly
  • 1TB of storage
  • Unlimited traffic
  • 20Gbps network speed
  • Includes Open VPN, Transmission, ruTorrent, qBittorent, and Deluge

speedy Plan:

  • $11.5 per month, or $9 per month yearly
  • 1.5TB of storage

  • Includes Open VPN, Transmission, ruTorrent, qBittorent, and Deluge

supreme Plan:

  • $14 per month, or $11 per month yearly
  • 2TB of storage
  • Unlimited traffic
  • 20Gbps network speed
  • Includes Open VPN, Transmission, ruTorrent, qBittorent, and Deluge

RapidSeedbox Premium Plans

Fast Plan:

  • $18 per month, or $15 per month yearly
  • 1.2TB of storage
  • Unlimited traffic
  • Dual-core CPU
  • 2.5GB of RAM
  • 1Gbps network speed
  • Includes OpenVPN, Dedicated IP, Root Access, Remote Desktop, and One Click Installs

Stream Plan:

  • $30 per month, or $26 per month yearly
  • 2.2TB of storage
  • Unlimited traffic
  • 6-core CPU
  • 7GB of RAM
  • 1Gbps network speed
  • Includes OpenVPN, Dedicated IP, Root Access, Remote Desktop, One Click Installs, PLEX, and Prioritized Support

Rapid Plan:

  • $36 per month, or $31 per month yearly
  • 2.8TB of storage
  • Unlimited traffic
  • Quad-core CPU
  • 4GB of RAM
  • 10Gbps network speed
  • Includes OpenVPN, Dedicated IP, Root Access, Remote Desktop, One Click Installs, PLEX, and Prioritized Support

Furious Plan:

  • $67 per month, or $57 per month yearly
  • 5.6TB of storage
  • Unlimited traffic
  • 6-core CPU
  • 8GB of RAM
  • 10Gbps network speed
  • Includes OpenVPN, Dedicated IP, Root Access, Remote Desktop, One Click Installs, PLEX, and Prioritized Support

The premium plans are certainly more expensive than the lean plans due to their advanced features. All seven of these packages have OpenVPN but only the ones from the premium packages are compatible with a dedicated IP.

Other features are also package-specific. A Plex server, for example, can only be used with the three most expensive options that start with $30 per month. Additionally, the root access option and the one-click install feature are only available to all premium packages. This may sound unfortunate to those who were most interested in the lean plans.

Despite the prices being higher than average, RapidSeedbox offers a reasonable 14-day money-back guarantee that applies to all seven packages, which is pretty generous at the end of the day. More importantly, all of these packages offer pretty reasonable storage and unlimited traffic sizes.

As you’ve noticed, lean plans have a faster network speed of 20 Gbps while premium plans only have a network speed range of 1-10Gbps. In both cases, the network interface is shared. But on premium boxes, you will have a dedicated IP and a VPS. On lean boxes, you will have an account with no SSH access.

RapidSeedbox features

Features

As we’ll soon see, RapidSeedbox is loaded with many great features that are geared for both novice and advanced users of seedboxes alike. While many of the price points may seem high, they are easily justified by just how packed this seedbox is with features (and as we’ll see in the following section, apps as well).

For one thing, RapidSeedbox is one of the few seedboxes that offers Root Access in all of their premium packages. While this is a more advanced user feature, Root Access allows you to tinker with the very hardware that supports the seedbox itself. With Root Access, you essentially have administrator privileges that will allow you to install and configure any software, program updates, and many more technical aspects.

It’s also important to remember that you are also paying for your own VPS (Virtual Private Server) which comes with every premium package just like root access privileges. With the benefits of VPS hosting, you will be able to have expanded server traffic on your own dedicated server. This will really come in handy for seedbox users that deal with a lot of uploading and seeding. Keep in mind that RapidSeedbox deals with shared VPS services.

One feature that will appeal to everyone is the one-click installation that RapidSeedbox offers for dozens of apps. This is an excellent feature that, despite its simplicity, makes patible with several operating systems: Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX, OpenVZ 7.0, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian.

The UI of RapidSeedbox is another big plus. It is in-depth but doesn’t turn into an overwhelming task to navigate if you are new to seedboxes. It is very clean, easy on the eyes, and should be very familiar to people who are used to torrent or Usenet clients.

The main control panel will allow you to find all of the necessary information about your account and server status that you’ll need, including the IP address, the hostname, the memory and bandwidth, total disk space, and more.

The UI also gives easy access to other features such as being able to generate an API key (Application Programming Interface).

While RapidSeedbox is not compatible with the popular GPU Transcode feature, there are compatible apps that can help out with video transcoding as will be covered below.

Another thing to keep in mind is that RapidSeedbox allows public torrent trackers in all packages. This is a big boon that will make your torrenting days much smoother as your seeds will be easier to locate by others.

Additionally, RapidSeedbox comes pre-installed with a few apps of its own which we’ll cover now.

App Support

If there is one sole area that RapidSeedbox best excels at, it without a doubt has to be its utterly phenomenal app support. This area is arguably where RapidSeedbox truly shines.

Right off the bat when you install RapidSeedbox, it will come pre-installed with several applications that will augment your experience. These apps are OpenVPN, Plex Server (for the Stream, Rapid and Furious plans only), Dropbox, FileZilla, Resilio BTSync, and Handbrake.

Overall, RapidSeedbox is compatible with a massive number of apps that easily put it at the top of nearly all seedboxes when it comes to app support and compatibility.

Unsupported Apps

For one thing, it is interesting to note that RapidSeedbox does not officially support Radarr or Sonarr. Both are popular apps that are designed to automate searching for movies and TV shows via Usenet and Torrent clients. There are apps to fill the gap (i.e. Sickbeard and Couchpotato), but personally, I would always opt for the newer Radarr and Sonarr combo.

RapidSeedbox also does not support Rapidleech and uTorrent. It’s because their engineering team finds that these two apps, including Radarr and Sonarr, have broken dependencies, have no more updates/upgrades, are unstable, and can cause unexpected seedbox behavior.

How to Install Unsupported Apps

If you wish to install the unsupported apps I mentioned above, you can install them manually by accessing your seedbox. However, SSH is recommended, and that can only be found in RapidSeedbox’s premium plans. Also, note that RapidSeedbox can’t help you with anything related to installing these unsupported apps, so use these apps at your own risk.

Torrent Client Apps

RapidSeedbox is compatible with a few torrent clients, including Deluge, Aria2, NZBGet, ruTorrent, and rTorrent / libTorrent and each one works exceptionally well with this seedbox.

Ultimately, the list of app support provided by RapidSeedbox is most impressive. Popular web browsers like Google Chrome, Brave, and Firefox can all be used to access the seedbox.

Some other popular applications include the VLC media player, Plex media server (on premium plans), Youtube DL, 7 Zip, and the Headphones app.

The list doesn’t stop there, though. RapidSeedbox offers official support with several apps related to file synchronization, mail, media streaming, video transcoders, downloading, and more. RapidSeedbox can be integrated with Google Drive, Dropbox, Filezilla, Ampache, Handbrake, Resilio Sync, the Yandex Browser, Jdownloader, LXDE Desktop, Sickbeard, FlexGet, Thunderbird, PlexPy, uGet, Pidgin, and many more!

The short of it is that if you were to theoretically install all of these apps and integrate them with RapidSeedbox, you would have so much functionality that it could make your head spin – in a good way, of course!

Installation and Management

As discussed briefly, installing RapidSeedbox is very easy thanks to its instant installation feature. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never used a seedbox before – you will still be able to install it from your computer or smartphone with ease.

Managing your RapidSeedbox is also pretty straightforward considering the vast amount of options it gives you. This has already been touched upon earlier, but the control panel and settings give you a lot to monitor and configure, such as monitoring your network speeds, monitoring any newly available updates, a graph that will give you many different statistics over a designated time span and choosing your own hostname.

And of course, because RapidSeedbox also gives you OpenVPN, you also have more options related to online security and privacy to configure as well.

Support and Wiki

Here’s another area that RapidSeedbox excels at that many seedboxes don’t: the excellent customer support and helpful wiki articles.

The staff at RapidSeedbox really deserve a round of applause here. They are famously known to respond to comments or emails very quickly. Their customer support and chat lines are available 24/7, and no matter where you live or when you make your inquiry, you are almost guaranteed to get a response back fairly soon. They are timely, friendly, useful, and can answer just about any question you throw at them.

The official RapidSeedbox website also has an excellent blog section with several articles that really dive into the various topics they cover. There are articles that tell you about illegal downloading, all the info on Plex Media Servers and Plex Clients, and their ultimate Kodi Guide. Keep in mind that these articles are often updated whenever necessary, even months after their initial publication, so you can rest easy knowing that all their info is up to date.

Despite all this great news about chat lines and blog posts, RapidSeedbox does indeed have a wiki page that will teach you all you need to know about commands, fixes, and more. Any detailed instructions you need from managing a remote desktop to SSL certificates will be found here with very well-written tips and instructions.

Payment Methods

Luckily for those who care about private payment methods, RapidSeedbox allows you to use cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Litecoin, USD Coin, and Shiba Inu.

RapidSeedbox also allows for more conventional and popular payment methods including Paypal, Visa, and Mastercard.

Regardless of which payment option you prefer to use, all of them work seamlessly and quickly so you won’t have to worry about any issues with the money being accepted.

Keep in mind that RapidSeedbox’s 14-day money-back guarantee policy applies to all forms of payment.

The Verdict

As much as I can praise RapidSeedbox for doing so many things excellently, there are a few negative points that are hard to ignore. The lack of official support for a couple of popular apps like Radarr, Sonarr, Rapidleech, and uTorrent is definitely an annoyance, and the lack of Plex servers for the lean plans will probably drive some people away. And of course, there is no denying that it is one of the more expensive seedboxes out there.

Despite all that, for everything RapidSeedbox gets wrong, it gets at least five things done correctly. With some wonderful network and storage capabilities, a monumental amount of compatible apps, a fantastic interface with so many features, and some of the best customer support any seedbox has ever offered, RapidSeedbox is still worth considering as one of the best seedboxes you can buy today.
